Take a head of garlic. Slice off the base with a sharp knife to cut the bottom off every clove. Place on a dish in the microwave and zap for 20-30 seconds. The aroma will tell you when it's done. The garlic will be softened, just as if you'd roasted it slowly in the oven. You can now squeeze the softened garlic out of each clove with your fingers.
Slice peppers and/or onions, toss in a bowl with a little olive oil. Zap for a minute or more (time depends on quantity) until well softened. Again you can get, in a minute or so, most of the effect of long gentle roasting in an oven or pan. Use as toppings on pizza, fillings for wraps or omelettes, etc.
